Music Peripatetic Teachers
Salary - £25 per hour
Part time/term time only - 2 - 5 hours per week
Starting September 2024
St Vincent College has a well-established contemporary music programme which is an integral part of a friendly and supportive visual and performing arts team. Several part time posts to deliver supportive singing, drumming and guitar teachers are required from September 2024.
As a college, we deliver excellent teaching and learning to achieve the best outcomes possible for our learners. The music department is very much at the heart of this provision working with both industry providers and in the wider Gosport Community. There are groups of enthusiastic first and second year students that need focused support for the sole music teacher who is currently delivering level 2 and 3 BTEC qualifications in both Music Technology and Music Performance.
There are dedicated, well-resourced teaching and rehearsal spaces within in the department and a recently developed performance space. Music enrichment is very well attended on a daily basis. Many of the students in the learning area combine music with other visual and performing arts courses as part of their study programme.
We are looking for a teacher to deliver weekly drumming, singing or guitar sessions that are committed to supporting both groups and diverse individual needs, to strive for musical excellence. Music performance students will require support with their solo and ensemble assessment pieces. We would also encourage tutors to run instrumental workshops based on developing fundamental techniques. We are keen that the chosen candidates are willing to get involved in the many outside performances, music festivals and student gigs that are regularly staged by the music department.
