St Vincent College provides students with an ideal environment where they can thrive. We encourage our students to be the best they can and to prepare them for their future, with help from our experienced teaching staff and campus facilities.
On the campus you will see that we have a tidal creek, making us the only college in the UK to have such an asset. This allows our sports courses to offer on-site water sports such as kayaking. Other facilities include the study hub, quad, sports grounds, and plenty of social spaces to take a break.
We fill our students with ambition and give the support needed to progress to the next level on whatever path they have chosen. We hold internal progression events as well as careers fairs which have helped hundreds of students on their way to success.
Students are encouraged to be independent but have access to plenty of support along the way. We offer one to one coaching, academic mentors and have a dedicated learning support team to help with learning difficulties and disabilities.
We also welcome adult students to our very extensive range of vocational courses and accredited qualifications; we have seen many success stories where people have discovered learning later in life.
The Lighthouse Learning Trust employs 375 staff and comprises two sixth form colleges – Richard Taunton College in Southampton and St Vincent College in Gosport. We are proud of our colleges, both of which have been praised by Ofsted and rated as ‘Good’.
The Trust is strongly committed to the principle of inclusion – we hold a firm belief that every young person should be offered an equal opportunity to succeed no matter what their starting point may be. Our aim is to provide welcoming, safe, and supportive institutions that will offer the best possible learning experience. We will always seek to find the right pathway for every learner.
Of course, we could not achieve any of this without the professionalism and dedication of our excellent people. The Lighthouse Learning Trust encourages all members of our staff to work closely together as a supportive community of teaching and learning professionals. Together, we share a culture that always places our students at the centre of our decision-making and thinking.
The Lighthouse Learning Trust has strong leadership, excellent governance, and a belief in its ability to deliver positive change and enhance opportunities for all our stakeholders.
