Learning Support Assistants (SEND/SEMH)

24 hours per week contract (Monday to Thursday)

Term-time only (37 weeks - Please note our College term dates slightly differ to standard dates)

Salary: Support Staff Scale Point 20 - FTE £22,070 

We have exciting opportunities available for an experienced and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team within the School of Personalised Learning (SPL).

The successful candidate will be offered full training for the role and be provided with the opportunity for career development as the candidate grows into the role. 

The College provides specialist education and support for 200+ young people aged 16-25 with moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities. Working with students you will form a key part of the range of services to support their education, emotional well-being and preparation for adulthood.

Candidates must:

  • Have GCSE C grade or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Understand there will be a need to provide Personal Care which could include feeding and toileting as required to support Students with specific identified needs. Full training will be provided.

Ideally, you should:

  • Be well motivated, passionate and well organised
  • Have significant knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Have prior experience of supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service application.
