Yard Manager (Equine) (12-month FTC)

Your Hours: Part Time, 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE) (worked on a shift rota basis across 7 days of the week including evenings), 52 weeks per year
Your pay: £12,800 pro-rata per annum (£25,600 per annum, full time equivalent)
Here at Hadlow College (part of North Kent College) we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and passionate individual to join our Equine team on a 12-month FTC from June 2023.
Reporting to the Head of Curriculum (Equine), this role is responsible for the management of the equine stable yards and overseeing the maintenance of practical resources. Working alongside the other Yard Manager, the successful candidate will also support the curriculum area in the demonstration and practical instruction in equine studies.
The successful candidate will have relevant practical experience and able to communicate effectively and credibly with industrial, educational and professional contacts. Experience of working in an equine year and managing a team of yard assistants / technicians is essential alongside the ability to work on your own initiative, managing your time and supporting the busy team.
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold a minimum of Level 4 qualification in related area (BHS Stage 4, HND, NVQ Level 4) or equivalent, a recognised BHS Riding Instruction qualification and a first aid certificate (or the willingness to obtain one upon appointment). It is essential that you have worked in a similar role, with sound academic knowledge and understanding of equine and equitation studies in addition to an understanding of safeguarding in education.
