Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time Only
Responsible and accountable to: Curriculum Manager – Adult Learning

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and apply ATTFE College policies in relation to health, safety and welfare.
  • Attending relevant training and take responsibility for own development.
  • Attending relevant ATTFE meetings as required.
  • Respecting confidentiality at all times.
  • Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussions with line manager.
  • Complying with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace.
  • Implementing and adhering to strong safeguarding policy and practice at all times.
  • Establish positive professional relationships with learners.
  • Support the use of ICT in the classroom and develop learner’s competence and independence in its use.
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programs as agreed with the tutors or SENCO, adjusting activities according to learners’ responses as appropriate.
  • Promotes positive learner behaviour in line with ATTFE policies to help keep learners on task.
  • Interact with, and support learners according to individual needs and skills.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all learners within the classroom ensuring access to lessons and their content through appropriate clarification.
  • To participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the tutor providing feedback to the tutor on learner progress and behaviour.
  • Monitor and record learner activities as appropriate writing records and report as required.
  • Work with individual learner profiles.
  • Take a leading role in supporting attendance, chasing absences, and catch up interventions to help learner progress.
  • To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the tutor.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of learner passports.
