Norton Hill is a high performing school. It is highly successful and oversubscribed with 80% of students achieving at least a grade 4 in 5 or more subjects (including English and Maths), and nearly 60% achieving a grade 5 or above. Progress 8 in 2019 and 2022 was around 0.25, whilst Science Value Added was 0.35, with 85% achieving 4+, and 32% achieving 7+, in 2022. We are looking for an enthusiastic Head of House with a teaching timetable of approximately 0.8.

To be responsible for:

  • The leadership and management of academic, personal, social progress and guidance of pupils in the House.
  • The quality of tutor time and personal tutoring.
  • Monitoring performance and working to improve performance of team members – including the agreed policy of performance management.
  • Undertaking a process of self-review annually and leading the team of colleagues to raise school standards.
  • The maintenance and development of effective home school liaison.
  • Keeping abreast of initiatives and new policies related to pastoral care.
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils across the House.
