Emotional Literacy Support Assistant

Support Staff Scale Point range 25-26

£26,664FTE/£22,920 actual - £27,531FTE/£23,666 actual

37 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)

Reporting to the Trust Additional Learning Support Manager. St Vincent Sixth Form college is seeking a suitably experienced staff member to join the Learning Support Team.

If you are you passionate about supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people with a variety of presenting needs by providing interventions on both a 1-1 and small group basis to enhance the experience for young people throughout their post-16 journey then this could be an exciting opportunity for you. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual who is able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

We are seeking someone who:

• Is proactive, resilient and has high aspirations in all aspects of college life

• Has experience of offering both immediate and scheduled support to students identified as having complex pastoral needs and concerns.

• Has experience of working in a high pressured, pastoral environment

Ideally, you should:

• Be well motivated, passionate and well organised

• Have significant knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent

You will have:

• Have Grade C passes in English and Maths, or equivalent

A good sense of humour and a flexible nature is essential!
