Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

LP4 (FTE: £21,257-£23,303 ACTUAL: £16,255-£17,819)

32 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

One-year fixed term contract

Required January 2023

NOR: 1960 (11-18) (450+ in Sixth Form)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and suitably experienced person to take on a role supporting students in our Learning Support Portal. You will work directly with a targeted cohort of learners, supporting strategies and behaviour management plans to engage them positively in their programme of study and in the wider school community.

The role of Behaviour Support Assistant is a rewarding and important one. George Abbot School is committed to creating a fully inclusive environment where all students are valued equally.

The SEND and Inclusion Team work in liaison with classroom teachers, ensuring appropriate differentiation for students and other specific in-class support requirements, so that every George Abbot student is able to meet their full potential. You should be an excellent communicator, be passionate about education and be able to have empathy for young people. The successful candidate will, potentially, work across our VI team as well as the Learning Support team.
