Adult Education Learning Support Assistants

The Adult Education Area is seeking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to provide 1:1 support for adult learners within English and maths classes.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, hardworking and willing to be adaptable to the student’s needs. They will work under the guidance of the English and maths teachers to provide support to help students overcome barriers to learning and will be required to complete several tasks, including scribing for students.

Hours of work: potentially between 2 and 8 hours per week (hours depend on number of learners who require support each term) 

Days/Times of work: To be confirmed at interview - classes requiring support run throughout the week predominantly during daytime hours

Please note that this role is term time only.

Hourly rate: £10.57

Skills and experience required: Applicants will ideally have experience of working with learners with additional support needs, and have a minimum of Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths as a minimum. The successful candidate will be required to complete and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

This is a zero hour contract with a January 2023 start (subject to completion of pre-employment checks)
